Keeping the spirit of August’s and Cindy’s posts about job boards and effective job searches going, I’m digging out a post from my own blog archive to complement their wise words. If you think posting your resume on one of the big job boards and waiting for the phone to ring is job searching, apologies, you’re wrong.

Job boards are a tool, a small tool in what should be a large job search toolbox. As Cindy points out, higher-level positions have less of a chance landing a lead via a job board. And as August says, balance your online search activity with a much higher percentage of time networking.

If you want to dispel a few more job board myths, you can read Dawn’s entire post here.
