Are you sitting in the driver’s seat? Or, are you merely a passenger along for the ride? Is it a company’s responsibility to figure out where you’re a fit, or is it yours? In the high-stakes competition of job searching, you are the seller and the company is the buyer. If you don’t bring a clear and compelling product (value proposition) to the table, the company probably won’t be making a purchase.
