The Story Behind This Rare Alliance of Expert Certified Professional Resume Writers

The spark igniting this collaboration was an invitation from The Recruiting Animal to appear on his radio show. As a result of his and Jacqui Barrett-Poindexter’s conversations on Twitter, he issued a summons to face the “Animal Inquisition” on the topic of resume writing and job searching.  He encouraged Jacqui to invite other resume writers and she in turn reached out to five other certified professional resume writers.

Having formed an affinity with a diversity of resume writers on Twitter, Jacqui contacted Dawn Bugni, August Cohen, Kris Plantrich and Rosa Vargas to join her on this radio venture. She selected participants based on the writers’ smart and consistent social media presence as well as their engaging and positive style.

The Recruiting Animal dubbed the group the “Resume Chicks,” and their debut appearance was on his Sept. 30, 2009 show. The show, well received, can be found here.

Shortly after, these professional resume writers appeared on the Ex-Recruiter Show, with radio host Paul Paris. The link to that show’s recording can be found here. Check back regularly for announcements about future talk show appearances.

Tapping into the power of social media, they launched this blog where they regularly post articles on resumes, job search and career-related topics. They also established a collective Twitter presence as @ResumeChicks, using the hashtag #rezcks.

The Resume Chicks are available for radio appearances and will continue to Tweet and blog about contemporary resume and careers-focused topics. They invite you to engage with them on Twitter and at this blog site for up-to-the minute career conversation and best practices information.
